Racing Incident Report

As the gates opened, CENTURY MOLLY sat back and as a consequence lost a considerable amount of ground at the start. FANTASTIC DANCER was slow to begin. On jumping, CHINESE COURSER and MAGIC TURBO were taken back from outside barriers. In the early and middle stages, SUPREME GOLD travelled wide and without cover. Entering the Back Straight, LUCKY CHAMPION became unbalanced and lost ground after being bumped by COOL RUNNINGS which got its head on the side and shifted in while hanging. For some distance after this, COOL RUNNINGS continued to hang in. Near the 800 Metres, CHINESE COURSER, which commenced to make up ground, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of FANTASTIC DANCER. At the 250 Metres, SUPREME GOLD was steadied away from the heels of WADADELIGHT. Throughout the race, SIR LAGO hung out and travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the poor performance of WADADELIGHT, Apprentice M Chadwick was not able to offer an explanation. He said throughout the race WADADELIGHT travelled wide and without cover, however, was in a two wide position until making the turn at the 700 Metres when carried to a three wide position by HONEST TREASURE. He said WADADELIGHT came under pressure prior to straightening. WADADELIGHT and SIR LAGO were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WADADELIGHT and SIR LAGO after the race did not show any significant findings. OLYMPICSHIP, NEEDLES AND THREAD and MASSIVE STAR were sent for sampling.
