A veterinary inspection of WELL NOTED after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of WELL NOTED, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, WELL NOTED will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. D Whyte (GILDED FLIGHT) explained when WELL NOTED became fractious in the barriers, his mount also became fractious. He said approaching the turn at the 700 Metres he shifted his mount closer to the rail, however, when racing in kickback it did not respond to his riding and lost further ground. He said following the race he recommended to the trainer to consider altering the gear in which GILDED FLIGHT races. GILDED FLIGHT was sent for an official veterinary inspection.
