Racing Incident Report
MIRACLE FORTUNE was withdrawn on 14.10.08 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, MIRACLE FORTUNE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Whilst in the holding stalls, PERFECT TREASURE had its right hind plate refitted. PERFECT TREASURE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. After being boxed, TRAVEL CONSULTANT became fractious, reared and dislodged its rider, B Prebble. B Prebble was uninjured. MESOHAPPY bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. From a wide barrier, MY GOAL was taken across behind runners on jumping. Near the 800 Metres, MESOHAPPY got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of PERFECT TREASURE. After the 700 Metres, PERFECT TREASURE was steadied away from the heels of HAPPEE GIFT. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, OPTIC KING was hampered and carried wider by MESOHAPPY which got its head on the side, hung out badly and shifted ground. The performance of MESOHAPPY was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, MESOHAPPY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial around a bend. At the 150 Metres, MY GOAL, which was closing the race off strongly, was shifted wider on the track to continue improving. OPTIC KING was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, OPTIC KING, which finished distanced, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had an ulcerated epiglottic entrapment. Before being permitted to race again, OPTIC KING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PERFECT TREASURE and JUST RIGHT were sent for sampling.
