Racing Incident Report
BIG PROFIT was difficult to load, then began awkwardly and lost ground. Before being allowed to race again, BIG PROFIT will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. HANNAH KING PRAWN was slow to begin. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, MY SMARTIE was steadied away from the heels of FLYING COLOURS (M Du Plessis) which after crossing to the lead steadied the tempo. HANNAH KING PRAWN, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of MY SMARTIE. M Du Plessis was told to exercise care when steadying the tempo of races in the lead. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, DIAMOND PRINCE became unbalanced when steadying away from the heels of BREAKING POINT which when proving difficult to settle was steadied while awkwardly placed between STORMIN JOBURG and BIG PROFIT. In the middle stages, FLYING COLOURS hung out. After straightening, HANNAH KING PRAWN and BREAKING POINT raced tight as HANNAH KING PRAWN endeavoured to shift out to obtain clear running. After the 400 Metres, BIG WINNER AGAIN, DIAMOND PRINCE, BREAKING POINT and HANNAH KING PRAWN were hampered and carried wider when STORMIN JOBURG after initially shifting in was then shifted out away from the heels of BIG PROFIT which when hanging shifted wider. No action was taken. At the 100 Metres, LUFENG FORTUNE was steadied away from the heels of STORMIN JOBURG which shifted out. Over the concluding stages, BIG WINNER AGAIN hung in. D Whyte (DIAMOND PRINCE) explained the intention had been to have the horse ridden in a forward position. He said DIAMOND PRINCE bounded in the air at the start and lost ground, he then rode along in an endeavour to improve his position and near the 1000 Metres he steadied his mount away from the heels of BIG PROFIT which shifted out. He said DIAMOND PRINCE received further inconvenience on the first turn. He said as a consequence of these incidents DIAMOND PRINCE travelled further back than anticipated and failed to finish the race off. DIAMOND PRINCE was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of DIAMOND PRINCE after the race did not show any significant findings. FLYING COLOURS and BIG WINNER AGAIN were sent for sampling.
