Racing Incident Report
After being boxed, REGENCY HORSE became fractious, kicked out behind and momentarily had its left hind leg caught between the back gates of its stall. Also after being boxed, ABLE PRINCE became fractious and momentarily had its right hind leg caught on the platform inside its stall. Both REGENCY HORSE and ABLE PRINCE were examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion they were suitable to race. On jumping, DOWN TOWN was checked when crowded for room between PLANET RULER and SACRED KINGDOM, both of which shifted ground. In this incident, both PLANET RULER and SACRED KINGDOM also became unbalanced. At the 350 Metres, REGENCY HORSE was steadied when awkwardly placed outside the heels of DOWN TOWN (C Soumillon) which at this time shifted out. C Soumillon was advised to exercise greater care. Throughout the race, EGYPTIAN RA hung out. G Mossé (SACRED KINGDOM) said with the delay to the start while other runners were being examined by the Veterinary Officer, SACRED KINGDOM became fractious in its stall. He said SACRED KINGDOM began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner. He said because of this SACRED KINGDOM itself became unbalanced and lost ground. He said after this SACRED KINGDOM travelled comfortably and reached the lead inside the 400 Metres, however, when under pressure at about the 150 Metres failed to respond to his riding as he thought it would. ABSOLUTE CHAMPION and SACRED KINGDOM were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported REGENCY HORSE had sustained an abrasion wound to the inside of its left hind hock.
