Racing Incident Report
WONG’S FAVOURITE proved difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, WONG’S FAVOURITE will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. SINOSPIEL and CAPABILITY were slow to begin. PACIFIC ALLIANCE began awkwardly. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, KNIGHT TEMPLAR was steadied away from the heels of PURPLE GOLD. In the early and middle stages, CHALLENGER travelled wide and without cover. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, RIGHT CHOICE was crowded for room inside KNIGHT TEMPLAR which got its head on the side and shifted in momentarily. At the 500 Metres, VITALITY CHAMP raced tight inside CHALLENGER which got its head on the side and shifted in away from WONG’S FAVOURITE which improved around its outside. Prior to straightening, VITALITY CHAMP became unbalanced when crowded for room inside CHALLENGER which at this time was racing tight inside REWARDING STAR. RIGHT CHOICE, which was following, was inconvenienced, shifted out and bumped KNIGHT TEMPLAR. Over the concluding stages, CAPABILITY hung out and shifted wider on the track. B Prebble (PURPLE GOLD) reported he was concerned with the action of the horse for the majority of the race and because of this he did not ride his mount out in the Straight. PURPLE GOLD was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PURPLE GOLD after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of PURPLE GOLD was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, PURPLE GOLD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CHALLENGER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CHALLENGER after the race did not show any significant findings. CAPABILITY, WONG’S FAVOURITE and REWARDING STAR were sent for sampling.
