Racing Incident Report

BOOM began awkwardly and lost ground at the start. On jumping, ISLAND SPEED shifted out and bumped FRIENDLY GAINS. Shortly after the start, GOOD TO GO was checked when crowded for room between NORDIC STAR and LU YUE which was taken out by CANNONISE which after beginning awkwardly shifted out. From the outside barrier, LASER POWER was taken across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 900 Metres, FIFTY FIFTY and ISLAND SPEED bumped. At the 800 Metres, ISLAND SPEED was steadied away from the heels of ADAIKALI (O Doleuze) which shifted in when not quite clear. O Doleuze was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Near the 750 Metres, FIFTY FIFTY was momentarily crowded for room inside ADAIKALI. ISLAND SPEED and GOOD TO GO were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ISLAND SPEED and GOOD TO GO after the race did not show any significant findings. FRIENDLY GAINS and DIM SUM were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported FIFTY FIFTY had sustained a cut to the inside of the left hock.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 29 November 2007)
When being transported from the Happy Valley Racecourse to the Sha Tin Racecourse following last night’s race meeting, LASER POWER became fractious in the transporter. The Veterinary Officer has this morning reported that LASER POWER sustained a wound to the right hind leg and multiple wounds to the body and head. Before being allowed to race again, LASER POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
