Racing Incident Report

Prior to leaving the Parade Ring, FORTUNE GALLOP had its left front plate reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. On jumping, FIRST KNIGHT stumbled. Also on jumping, FORTUNE GALLOP was bumped by UNDERDOG. WINNING AHEAD was slow to begin. From a wide barrier, BUCCANEER was taken across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 900 Metres, KING OF SPADES became unbalanced and lost ground when awkwardly placed inside BUCCANEER which at this time was carried in by ICHIBAN which got its head on the side and shifted ground when being steadied away from the heels of MONTY which itself was being steadied away from the heels of LIFELINE PEGASUS. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, UNDERDOG hung out. For the major part of the race, LIFELINE PEGASUS travelled wide and without cover and making the turn after the 800 Metres hung out. Near the 500 Metres, KING OF SPADES was steadied away from the heels of ICHIBAN when disappointed for running between that horse and BUCCANEER. UNDERDOG, which was following, was steadied, shifted out and bumped CASH MONEY. At the 300 Metres, BUCCANEER, which had been held up when having difficulty obtaining clear running, was checked when disappointed for running between MONTY which shifted in and FORTUNE GALLOP which was carried out by FIRST KNIGHT. In the circumstances, no action was taken. In the Straight, KING OF SPADES hung in. MONTY, ICHIBAN and FIRST KNIGHT were sent for sampling.
