Racing Incident Report
SOLAR MIGHTY and MY FAITH were slow to begin. TOP TOP LIGHT began awkwardly, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of ENGINEERING WONDER. From the outside barrier, PRESENT TREASURE was taken across behind runners in the early stages to a position close to the rail at the rear. Passing the 1100 Metres, SOLAR MIGHTY threw its head in the air when being steadied to avoid the heels of AMO which shifted in after being steadied to obtain cover behind THE WORLD OF LOVE. JADE DANCER travelled keenly in the early and middle stages and in the Straight gave ground. For some distance passing the 700 Metres, SOLAR MIGHTY proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when racing close to the heels of MR COOL. ENGINEERING WONDER and AMO were unable to obtain clear running from on straightening until passing the 200 Metres. For a short distance on straightening, SOLAR MIGHTY was held up when close to the heels of MR COOL. Approaching the 100 Metres, MY FAITH was momentarily crowded for room inside JADE DANCER which shifted in when giving ground. Over the concluding stages, AMO raced tight inside THE WORLD OF LOVE which shifted in slightly. Throughout the race, TIGER RIDGE travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the improved performance of KINGSTON WINNER, Trainer T K Ng stated from barrier 8 at its most recent start KINGSTON WINNER was obliged to be ridden along vigorously in the early stages to obtain a forward position. He stated in the early stages of that race KINGSTON WINNER raced wide before being able to shift in to race outside the leader passing the 600 Metres. He added due to the amount of work KINGSTON WINNER was obliged to do to obtain a forward position, the horse was not able to finish the race off. He stated tonight from barrier 4 KINGSTON WINNER was able to easily obtain a position behind the leaders and had benefited from the soft run. JADE DANCER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of JADE DANCER after the race did not show any significant findings. TOP TOP LIGHT, KINGSTON WINNER and DRAGON AND GOLD were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported DRAGON AND GOLD was displaying signs of the "thumps". Before being allowed to race again, DRAGON AND GOLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. It was reported when being transported back to Sha Tin, TOP TOP LIGHT became distressed and collapsed inside the horse transport. Before being allowed to race again, TOP TOP LIGHT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
