Racing Incident Report

THE ONLY ONE was withdrawn on 18.5.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, THE ONLY ONE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Shortly after the start, PRIME TARGET became unbalanced and lost ground when bumped by SILVER WRAITH which was carried out by HAPPY GO LAGO. In the early stages, PRIDEOFTHEORIENT proved difficult to settle. On several occasions approaching the 600 Metres, HAPPY GO LAGO and CARE FREE PRINCE bumped. When being ridden out in the Straight, LAMBRO shifted ground on a number of occasions, obliging D Whyte, its rider, to straighten his mount. Throughout the race, LUCKY DANSKE travelled wide and without cover. B Prebble (QI'S PET) explained in the early stages the horse was inclined to hang out and felt somewhat uncomfortable in its action. He said throughout the race he travelled wide and without cover and on straightening the horse did not respond when placed under pressure while continuing to feel awkward in its action. He said because of this he did not ride QI'S PET out. QI'S PET was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of QI'S PET after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of QI'S PET was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, QI'S PET will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LAMBRO, FINGERS CROSSED and CARE FREE PRINCE were sent for sampling.
