Racing Incident Report
NOBLE SILENCE stood flat-footed at the start and lost a considerable amount of ground. Shortly after the start, POCKET MONEY was taken across behind runners from a wide barrier. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, MASTER DREAMER failed to muster speed. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, CLASSA WIN was checked when crowded for room inside POCKET MONEY which after shifting across behind runners was ridden along to improve its position inside MASTER DREAMER which at this time was shifting in. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Also passing the winning post on the first occasion, WHIPLASH from a wide barrier, which was travelling wide without cover, was steadied and taken back to a position behind runners. At the 1300 Metres, MASTER DREAMER was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of POCKET MONEY. After the 600 Metres, DREAM HORSE raced close to the heels of BRILLIANT TREASURE. Near the 200 Metres, NOBLE SILENCE, MASTER DREAMER and WHIPLASH were inconvenienced and carried wider by ENCHANTED which shifted out slightly at this time. After the 200 Metres, POCKET MONEY was shifted to the outside of WINNING REWARD after initially being disappointed for running inside that horse. Throughout the race, FRIENDSHIP travelled wide and without cover. Apprentice C W Wong (FRIENDSHIP) explained making the turn near the 600 Metres his mount was inclined to shift away from DREAM HORSE after that horse shifted out from behind BRILLIANT TREASURE. He said because of this he was not able to prevent DREAM HORSE shifting away from the rail. Apprentice Wong was told to ensure he at all times rides in a competitive manner within the Rules. The Stewards will afford B Prebble an opportunity to explain the poor performance of DREAM HORSE at the Sha Tin Racecourse next Sunday 18 March 2007. DREAM HORSE was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of DREAM HORSE after the race did not show any significant findings. WINNING REWARD and POCKET MONEY were sent for sampling.
