Racing Incident Report
K S Yu (MASTER YING) was severely reprimanded for having failed to arrive on course by the prescribed time. TOUCH DOWN began awkwardly and lost ground. DANCING FAITH began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped RACING SPIRIT. SUPER BONUS was slow into stride. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, RAINBOW EXPRESS became unbalanced. After the 200 Metres, SPY KING was momentarily crowded for room between JET RISE and MASTER YING. At the 100 Metres, JET RISE, which was giving ground was steadied when crowded for room between SUPER BONUS and SPY KING. In the Straight, MASTER YING hung in. For the major part of the race, MAINLAND MASTER hung in. Throughout the race, JET RISE travelled wide and without cover. Mr A Schutz, trainer of MAINLAND MASTER, confirmed at the horse's most recent start, it was the initial intention to have the horse ridden in a rearward position as previously when racing over 1400 Metres in a forward position MAINLAND MASTER had failed to finish the race off as hoped. However, prior to the race it was decided due to the anticipated lack of pace the horse should be ridden in a prominent position. He said tonight racing over 1000 Metres it was felt MAINLAND MASTER from a wide barrier should be ridden in a forward position as it was thought the horse did not have the finishing speed to be ridden back over this distance or alternatively to travel wide. Mr Schutz said for these reasons it was decided to ride MAINLAND MASTER in a similar manner to its most recent start. RACING SPIRIT, WINNING CHAMP and WYNDAM PLENTY were sent for sampling.
