Racing Incident Report

VITAL PATROL was withdrawn on 13.2.07 by order of the Stewards (mistakenly treated) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter WAFER KING (S Dye). The Stewards will interview Mr J Moore, trainer of VITAL PATROL, regarding the circumstances of this mistaken treatment at the Sha Tin Racecourse next Tuesday 20 February 2007. QUALITY-QUALITY, which was standing with its head turned to the right, shifted in on jumping and bumped RAIN IN SPRING. After this, QUALITY-QUALITY was taken across behind runners. Shortly after the start, MILITARY OPTION was crowded for room between NICKU NICKU and HIGHLAND DAWN. At the 500 Metres, MILITARY OPTION was steadied away from the heels of LIVERBIRD. At the 50 Metres, AMAZING CHOICE, which was closing the race off strongly, was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of LIVERBIRD. Throughout the race, HIGHLAND DAWN travelled wide and without cover. G Mossé (MILITARY OPTION) explained throughout the race the horse felt uncomfortable in its action and changed legs on a number of occasions. He said in the Straight when placed under pressure the horse failed to respond to his riding. WAIT FOR ME, NICKU NICKU and QUALITY-QUALITY were sent for sampling.
