Racing Incident Report
On jumping, FORTUNE WARRIOR was taken across behind runners. TRIUMPH began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped NOBLE CONQUEROR. SUNBELL was slow to begin. In the early and middle stages, TRIUMPH travelled wide and without cover. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, DANEHILL WARRIOR became unbalanced when crowded for room inside SUNBELL which got its head on the side and shifted in. After the 400 Metres, NOBLE CONQUEROR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DANEHILL WARRIOR. Approaching the 200 Metres, NOBLE CONQUEROR, which was held up and unable to obtain clear running, was shifted to the outside of SUNBELL. At the 200 Metres, FIGHTING MASCOT was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running between ROMANTIC WINNER and TRIUMPH which was giving ground. Passing the 200 Metres, NOBLE CONQUEROR and EYE WITNESS, both of which were held up and unable to obtain clear running, raced tight. At the 150 Metres, TRIUMPH, which was giving ground, was bumped by EYE WITNESS which at this time shifted to the outside of WELL NOTED to obtain clear running. After this, EYE WITNESS hung out for the remainder of the race. At the 100 Metres, FIGHTING MASCOT was checked when crowded for room inside SOLAR (Apprentice C K Tong) which got its head on the side and shifted in away from DIAMOND ERA which also shifted in. Whilst the Stewards accepted Apprentice Tong had made some endeavour to prevent his mount shifting ground, he nonetheless was advised to exercise care. After the 100 Metres, NOBLE CONQUEROR (O Doleuze), which continued to be held up and unable to obtain clear running, was severely checked when endeavouring to improve between WELL NOTED and DON RICARDO where there was insufficient room. After being contacted on the hindquarters, DON RICARDO became unbalanced and shifted out across the running of NOBLE CONQUEROR. O Doleuze was severely reprimanded for endeavouring to improve where there was insufficient room. Almost right on the winning post, SOLAR was crowded for room between EYE WITNESS and DIAMOND ERA, both of which shifted ground. Because of this, SOLAR was not ridden out to the end of the race. In the Straight, SOLAR and FIGHTING MASCOT hung in. ROMANTIC WINNER and FORTUNE WARRIOR were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ROMANTIC WINNER and FORTUNE WARRIOR after the race did not show any significant findings. NOBLE CONQUEROR, DIAMOND ERA and EYE WITNESS were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported EYE WITNESS was lame in the left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, EYE WITNESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
