Racing Incident Report

NORTHERN HERO began awkwardly and lost ground. On jumping, EASY PUNCH was checked when crowded for room between GALBRAITH and INSPIRATION which shifted in. At the 200 Metres, DREAM HORSE, which was disappointed for running between BEAR MACHO and SURE JOY, got its head on the side and shifted in. Over the concluding stages, EASY PUNCH, which was closing the race off strongly, was not ridden out as it improved behind GALBRAITH and EASY. For the majority of the Home Straight, GALBRAITH had difficulty obtaining clear running and as such was not fully tested. Throughout the race, SURE JOY travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, D Whyte (BEAR MACHO) said the horse enjoyed a comfortable run throughout in a prominent position, on straightening shifted to the outside of JOY AND FUN into clear running, however, failed to quicken as he had anticipated it would. He was unable to offer any explanation for the performance of BEAR MACHO. BEAR MACHO was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. EASY PUNCH was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BEAR MACHO and EASY PUNCH after the race did not show any significant findings. NORTHERN HERO and JOY AND FUN were sent for sampling.
