Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Parade Ring, it was noted ALPHA MAIL had shifted its left front plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it was suitable to race. ALPHA MAIL was slow to begin, then throughout the race hung out and in the Straight gave ground. In the circumstances, the performance of ALPHA MAIL was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, ALPHA MAIL will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, FIVE GRAINS was steadied when awkwardly placed between SOPRANO and SUPER WONGCHOY which momentarily shifted in. In the early stages, GOODY proved difficult to settle. After the 900 Metres, SOPRANO raced ungenerously. At the 200 Metres, FIVE GRAINS was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of WINNING REWARD which shifted in. In the Straight, GUNG HO hung in and proved difficult to ride. Throughout the race, WINNING REWARD travelled wide and without cover. ALPHA MAIL was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ALPHA MAIL after the race did not show any significant findings. GREAT ACHIEVEMENT, GUNG HO and RUM SHOT were sent for sampling.
