Racing Incident Report

Prior to HAPPY ELITE leaving the Parade Ring, an adjustment was made to its left front plate. HAPPY ELITE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Shortly after the start, THUNDER DANCING and KINGSTON MARBLE were steadied when crowded for room between MONEY MAN and ALWAYS GIGGLE. From on straightening until after the 200 Metres, BEAR MACHO was held up and unable to obtain clear running between PLEZAYRE and SUNNY POWER. To obtain clear running, BEAR MACHO was steadied and shifted out. Shortly after straightening, ALWAYS GIGGLE was steadied away from the heels of MONEY MAN which momentarily shifted out. Approaching the 200 Metres, ALWAYS GIGGLE was bumped and carried in by SWIFT GERMANIA which at this time got its head on the side and shifted ground. From the 200 Metres until the 100 Metres, MONEY MAN was not able to obtain clear running. For a short distance after the 200 Metres, THUNDER DANCING was held up and unable to improve behind CANNONISE which was giving ground. In the Straight, OWNERS LAD hung in, after the 200 Metres when closing the race off strongly was awkwardly placed close to the heels of THUNDER DANCING, then over the final 100 Metres was not able to obtain clear running and as a consequence was not fully tested. Over the concluding stages, FAT CHOY FOREVER hung in and because of this was not ridden out to the line as it normally would be. Throughout the race, CANNONISE travelled wide and without cover. Apprentice C W Wong (FAT CHOY FOREVER), which from the outside barrier had travelled wide and without cover, explained approaching the turn at the 800 Metres he endeavoured to bring his mount back to a position with cover behind CANNONISE. He said he was not able to do this as FAT CHOY FOREVER was travelling keenly for him and then commenced to hang out. He said because of this FAT CHOY FOREVER continued to race wide and without cover. SUNNY POWER and ALWAYS GIGGLE were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported CANNONISE was making an abnormal breathing noise.
