Racing Incident Report
Before being saddled, CRUSADER OF GOLD had both the right front and left hind plates refitted. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. On jumping, CELESTIAL WONDER got its head up and lost ground. WAFER KING was slow to begin. K S Yu (MASTER YING) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1100 Metres he failed to take sufficient measures to prevent his mount from shifting in when not clear of CRUSADER OF GOLD which as a result lost its rightful running and was checked. In the circumstances of this case and having considered the submissions from K S Yu, the Stewards believed the appropriate penalty was for his licence to ride in races be suspended for a period to expire on Monday 2 October 2006 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). This suspension is to take immediate effect. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, PROFIT HILL became unbalanced and lost ground when awkwardly placed between WAFER KING which shifted in slightly and AURELIAN which shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of CRUSADER OF GOLD which itself was steadied away from the heels of HEALTHY FRUITS. At the 900 Metres, CELESTIAL WONDER was crowded for room inside CRUSADER OF GOLD which got its head on the side and shifted in. PROFIT HILL, which was following, was steadied. Shortly after straightening, EASY PUNCH was steadied and shifted out to obtain clear running. At the 150 Metres, CRUSADER OF GOLD was steadied away from the heels of AURELIAN which drifted in slightly. Throughout the race, DR POSSI travelled wide and without cover. WAFER KING, CRUSADER OF GOLD and PROFIT HILL were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WAFER KING, CRUSADER OF GOLD and PROFIT HILL after the race did not show any significant findings. ACTIVE VALOUR, NEW TRIUMPH and EASY PUNCH were sent for sampling.
