Racing Incident Report

CRYSTAL was withdrawn on 27.6.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inappetance) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter MY LANSON (W M Lai). Before being allowed to race again, CRYSTAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After arriving at the Start, the tongue tie fitted to CLASSA SUPREME was replaced. Also after arriving at the Start, MY LANSON, which kicked a rail in the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. BRILLIANT FLASH was slow to begin. FRIENDSHIP bounded in the air at the start and then knuckled. CARRIZO CREEK began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, GALLANT FALCON resented being struck with the whip and became unbalanced. After the 800 Metres, BRILLIANT FLASH got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SPARKLING STAR. Also after the 800 Metres, MY LANSON, which was travelling ungenerously, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SIXTY SECONDS. Making the Home Turn, CARRIZO CREEK was bumped by GALLANT FALCON which shifted in slightly. As a result of this, CARRIZO CREEK made contact with the running rail and became badly unbalanced. At the 250 Metres, the whip of C Munce (VISIONNAIRE) became entangled in the tail of GALLANT FALCON. CARRIZO CREEK was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CARRIZO CREEK after the race did not show any significant findings. LUCKY DIAMOND, DON RICARDO and ADD THE FUN were sent for sampling.
