Racing Incident Report

While in the holding stalls, it was noted SUPER HONEY had lost its left hind plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Trainer C S Shum (STRAIGHT VICTORY) was fined $2,000 for presenting the horse in the Parade Ring with a ring bit which was not part of the horse's declared gear. CHINSOLA began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of ADD THE FUN. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, KING OF FISH was carried wider by SUPER HONEY which after being carried out by ARMONDO which was relieving pressure to its inside was then steadied and shifted across to a position with cover. FORTUNE BOY, which was following SUPER HONEY, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of that horse. In the early stages, KING OF FISH travelled wide and without cover. At the 1300 Metres, STRAIGHT VICTORY was steadied to avoid the heels of GO GO VICTORY (Apprentice C W Wong) which shifted in when not properly clear. Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise greater care. ADD THE FUN and MILITARY OPTION were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, ADD THE FUN was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was displaying an irregular heart beat. Before being permitted to race again, ADD THE FUN will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of MILITARY OPTION after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER HONEY, SHANGHAI KING and CARRIZO CREEK were sent for sampling.
