Racing Incident Report

GOOD TO GREAT, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 18.4.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, GOOD TO GREAT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. From a gate towards the outside, EUPHORIC KID was steadied and shifted across behind runners. Over the final 50 Metres, EUPHORIC KID, which was closing the race off fairly, was unable to continue improving when awkwardly placed between JOYFUL YEARS and CHOSEN ONE. Because of this, EUPHORIC KID was not ridden out to the line. In the Straight, WISDOM EXPRESS hung in. The performance of MASONIC TREASURE, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, MASONIC TREASURE will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. S Dye (EVEREST) said his mount travelled only fairly in the run. He said at the 600 Metres WISDOM EXPRESS was able to shift out from his inside which resulted in him being carried wider, however, he was not travelling well enough to hold that horse in. He said in the Straight EVEREST shortened stride on two occasions, however, following the race did not appear lame. EVEREST was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of EVEREST after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, EVEREST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WISDOM EXPRESS and GANBARIA were sent for sampling.
