Racing Incident Report
FOREVER WIN was withdrawn on 18.4.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FANTASTIC WIN (F Coetzee). Before being allowed to race again, FOREVER WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When being saddled, PERSEVERANCE lost its right front plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. EVER KING and KING HOGAN were slow to begin. FANTASTIC WIN bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. TSUNAMI began awkwardly and got its head up. BULLET TRAIN began awkwardly. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, KING HOGAN was checked when crowded for room inside KAO AND MING which itself was checked after having shifted from the outside of TSUNAMI to the inside of that horse which at this time shifted in slightly. EVER KING, which was following KAO AND MING, was steadied in consequence. In the opinion of the Stewards, it was not considered appropriate to take action against any rider. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, EVER KING hung in and was steadied away from the heels of KING HOGAN. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, KING HOGAN raced tight inside KAO AND MING. Also at this time, STEP FORWARD raced tight inside EVER KING. EVER KING made the Home Turn awkwardly. For some distance after the 200 Metres, KING HOGAN was held up and unable to improve between TSUNAMI and NAPA. Then in the run to the line, KING HOGAN improved close to the heels of TSUNAMI and was not ridden right out to the end of the race. In the Straight, GLOBE RIVER hung in and near the 50 Metres made contact with MASTER YING. Throughout the race, SUPERSONIC raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. EVER KING, KAO AND MING and PERSEVERANCE were sent for sampling.
