Racing Incident Report

SILVERBIRD and MAGIC TEMPLE were slow to begin. NOBLE WIND began awkwardly, then shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between MADE IN HONGKONG which was carried out by VINCERE and SUPER BONUS which got its head on the side and shifted in. In this incident, SUPER BONUS and MADE IN HONGKONG also became unbalanced. As a consequence, MADE IN HONGKONG which had been intended to be ridden forward dropped back. After this, NOBLE WIND was then ridden to go forward, however, travelled wide and without cover. At the 1300 Metres, JADE DANCER got its head up when being steadied. When questioned regarding the improved performance of DONGGUAN VICTORY, Mr Y S Tsui, trainer of the horse, said its two most recent runs were on the turf in what he believed to be stronger races than that of today. He said prior to that DONGGUAN VICTORY had performed well when racing on the All Weather surface and at its most recent attempt had performed creditably. He said he did believe DONGGUAN VICTORY had a good chance in today's race, however, the betting support for the horse was not stable inspired. He added DONGGUAN VICTORY was today meeting the runner-up MAGIC TEMPLE significantly better off at the weights for having been beaten 2¼ lengths by that horse the last time they met each other on the All Weather surface. JADE DANCER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, JADE DANCER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, JADE DANCER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. DONGGUAN VICTORY and MAGIC TEMPLE were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted FIGHT BACK was making an abnormal breathing noise. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said an endoscopic examination showed the horse to be a "roarer".
