Racing Incident Report

SUPER IDEAL was withdrawn on 25.3.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (stiff and restricted action behind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter NATURAL NINE (G Mossé). Before being allowed to race again, SUPER IDEAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WATCHMAN began awkwardly. RED WINE HONEY was slow to begin. DONGGUAN VICTORY was slow to begin and then was bumped on the shoulder by CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE which shifted in abruptly. As a consequence, DONGGUAN VICTORY became unbalanced and lost a considerable amount of ground. In the early stages, NATURAL NINE proved difficult to settle and near the 1400 Metres got its head up when being momentarily steadied away from the heels of RIGHT FRAAR. For some distance after the 1400 Metres, SILVER MARK was awkwardly placed close to the heels of RIGHT FRAAR. Near the 800 Metres, DANSOLDE, which had been left racing without cover, pulled its way forward. At the 200 Metres, TSUNAMI was shifted to the outside of BARRACUDA which was giving ground. H K Yim (WATCHMAN) reported the horse was not comfortably on today's track conditions. NATURAL NINE was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, NATURAL NINE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had bled from both nostrils. SILVER MARK, RIGHT FRAAR and CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE were sent for sampling. Also after the race, it was reported DOUBLE PLEASURE had bled from both nostrils.
