Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, PICKETT became fractious and dislodged Apprentice K L Chui, its rider. PICKETT was removed from the stall and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said the horse was stiff behind and therefore in his opinion was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of PICKETT. Before being allowed to race again, PICKETT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. As the start was effected, OUR JET lunged forward and broke open the front gates of its stall momentarily prior to the other gates opening. OUR JET then bounded in the air and as a consequence lost a considerable amount of ground at the start. CHATEAU KING PRAWN began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 200 Metres, FLASHING STAR was steadied when awkwardly placed outside ABLE CHOICE which was carried out by ALINSKY which at this time shifted ground while hanging. Over the concluding stages, CLASSIC NAVIGATOR got its head on the side and shifted out. Approaching the winning post, CHATEAU KING PRAWN shifted out. For the major part of the race, HELENE ELEGANCE hung out. GREEN WARRIOR, CHATEAU KING PRAWN and CLASSIC NAVIGATOR were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 6 March 2006)
The Senior Veterinary Officer reported that CLASSIC NAVIGATOR was this morning found to have sustained an injury to the left front tendon. Before being allowed to race again, CLASSIC NAVIGATOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
