Racing Incident Report

NOBLE SILENCE was slow to begin. On jumping, SILVER SUN was bumped by ADD THE FUN which shifted in, then shortly afterwards was again crowded for room between that horse and FASHION JEWELLERY which shifted out away from FAMOUS DANCER. Near the 400 Metres, SILVER SUN became unbalanced when close to the heels of RUM SHOT. At the 400 Metres, STAY YOUNG was shifted to the outside of FLYING SPRINTER which at this time commenced to give ground. Over the final 200 Metres, FAMOUS DANCER and FASHION JEWELLERY raced tight. Near the 150 Metres, SILVER SUN was crowded for room when improving into a narrow run on the inside of FLORAL PEGASUS. At the 50 Metres, PACKING ANGEL, which was closing the race off fairly, was steadied and shifted to the inside of RUM SHOT to continue going forward. Throughout the race, FLYING SPRINTER travelled in a forward position, however, was wide and without cover and then in the Straight tailed out. The performance of FLYING SPRINTER was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, FLYING SPRINTER will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A Delpech (NOBLE SILENCE) said prior to the 200 Metres he commenced to shift out in an endeavour to find clear running. He said as he did this LIBERAL'S CHOICE gave ground in front of him, causing him to check and shift out further to avoid the heels of that horse. He said when he did this he noticed FASHION JEWELLERY which was racing in front of him shifted in slightly, so he immediately attempted to improve on the outside of that horse and on the inside of FAMOUS DANCER. He said as he improved towards this run FASHION JEWELLERY then got its head on the side and shifted out, causing him to be disappointed for running. He said near the 100 Metres he then shifted NOBLE SILENCE back to the inside of FASHION JEWELLERY, however that horse was then carried in by FAMOUS DANCER, as a consequence he was not able to test NOBLE SILENCE. STAY YOUNG was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of STAY YOUNG after the race did not show any significant findings. C Soumillon, the rider of STAY YOUNG, will be interviewed at the Sha Tin racemeeting next Saturday regarding the poor performance of the horse. SILVER SUN and FLORAL PEGASUS were sent for sampling.
