Racing Incident Report
FLYING BISHOP was withdrawn on 4.2.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter CANNONISE. Before being allowed to race again, FLYING BISHOP will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. D Whyte (ELEGANT JEWELLERY) and Y T Cheng (SECRET OF KINGS) were each fined $2,000 for being late into the Parade Ring. On jumping, ELEGANT JEWELLERY and HAPPY GO LAGO were checked when crowded for room between SPEEDING MOLLY which shifted out after being bumped by LASER POWER and BLUE GENES which got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. As a result of this incident, SPEEDING MOLLY was then carried in and was steadied away from the heels of LASER POWER. SECRET OF KINGS began awkwardly and lost ground. SILVER WRAITH was slow to begin. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, SECRET OF KINGS, which was racing ungenerously, was checked when awkwardly placed between WIKI WIKI and ELEGANT JEWELLERY which at this time got its head up and shifted out. No action was taken. At the 300 Metres, ELEGANT JEWELLERY was shifted to the inside of SUPERSONIC to obtain clear running. After the 300 Metres, GOLD MEDAL WINNER got its head on the side and shifted in. Over the final 200 Metres, SECRET OF KINGS hung in. Near the 100 Metres, DILIGENT, which was inclined to lay in, shifted in slightly, was then steadied and shifted out away from the heels of WIKI WIKI. Over the concluding stages, BLUE GENES hung out. Throughout the race, COP HILL LAD travelled wide and without cover. GOLD MEDAL WINNER, CANNONISE and LASER POWER were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported DILIGENT had lost its right front plate.
