Racing Incident Report
CHOICE AND CHANCE began very awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and lost a considerable amount of ground. ENRICHING was a little slow to begin and then bumped with COMPANION which shifted out. As a consequence, both COMPANION and ENRICHING lost ground. On jumping, RED STORM RISING was bumped by FAST TRACK. Near the 1000 Metres, ENRICHING was momentarily steadied away from the heels of CHAMP DE UNION which shifted out slightly. Making the turn at the 700 Metres and again after the 600 Metres, CHOICE AND CHANCE was steadied away from the heels of WIN FORTUNE. In the Straight, ENRICHING hung in and proved difficult to ride. D Whyte (SOUTH CHINA NINETY) said in the Straight the horse was not striding out as it should and was hanging out. He said because of this SOUTH CHINA NINETY despite having some use made of it in the early stages gave ground. SOUTH CHINA NINETY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SOUTH CHINA NINETY after the race did not show any significant findings. STRAWBERRY KISSES and RED STORM RISING were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported WIN HUNTER had bled from both nostrils.
