Racing Incident Report

SILENT WITNESS was withdrawn on 17.11.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (dull and inappetant). Before being allowed to race again, SILENT WITNESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. On jumping, ABLE PRINCE stumbled. COUNTRY MUSIC, which had been fractious in its gate, was slow to begin and shortly afterwards lost further ground when steadied away from the heels of OUR JET which was carried in by NATURAL BLITZ. CHATEAU KING PRAWN was slow to begin. Over the final 600 Metres, ABSOLUTE CHAMPION hung out and over the concluding stages hung out badly and shifted wider on the track. Throughout the race, CHATEAU KING PRAWN hung out. B Prebble (COUNTRY MUSIC) said the horse was very fractious in the barriers today. He said COUNTRY MUSIC at no stage of the race travelled as he thought it should and whilst it did not feel apparently sore to him it did seem to be holding back in its stride. He said at the 100 Metres he was momentarily crowded for room between FLASHING STAR and OUR JET, but this was of no significance. COUNTRY MUSIC was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, COUNTRY MUSIC was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. The performance of COUNTRY MUSIC was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, COUNTRY MUSIC will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PLANET RULER and ABLE PRINCE were sent for sampling.
