Racing Incident Report
HORACE'S HORSE began awkwardly from the outside gate, then failed to muster speed and raced well back. FREE WAY was slow into stride. PEACH BLOSSOM was slow to begin and then shortly afterwards was steadied away from the heels of SUPER which shifted out. As a consequence, PEACH BLOSSOM got well back. In the early stages, CHEERFUL SUNSHINE hung in. Approaching the turn at the 1000 Metres, FOREVER CHARMING got its head up when being steadied to shift in behind PEACH BLOSSOM. Approaching the turn at the 600 Metres, BEAMING RIVER, which was proving difficult to settle, was steadied when crowded for room inside TRIUMPHANT GLORY which momentarily shifted in. After this, TRIUMPHANT GLORY shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of SUPER. Then near the 500 Metres when racing tight inside ARIGATO, TRIUMPHANT GLORY shifted in and caused crowding on its inside to MAGNIFICENT which as a result lost its running. FOREVER CHARMING, which was following MAGNIFICENT, was hampered in consequence. Near the 200 Metres, Y T Cheng (BEAMING RIVER) dropped his whip. Over the concluding stages, FOREVER CHARMING raced ungenerously, got its head up and shifted in. Throughout the race, ARIGATO travelled wide and without cover and in the Home Straight gave ground. PEACH BLOSSOM and PRO JOY were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PEACH BLOSSOM and PRO JOY after the race did not show any significant findings. BEAMING RIVER, TRIUMPHANT GLORY and WING FOOT were sent for sampling.
