Racing Incident Report
SOLAR POWER began awkwardly, bumped the outside of its gate and as a consequence lost ground, then near the 800 Metres became unbalanced. On jumping, GOODWOOD stumbled. Also on jumping, DANEPRINT got its head up and lost ground. LORD CAIRNS was slow to begin. From a gate towards the outside, GOOD NATURE was ridden along to go forward, however, was obliged to race wide and without cover. In the early stages, TELECOM TYCOON failed to muster speed. Approaching the 600 Metres, DON FELIPE hung out. On straightening, C Brown (FAT DRAGON) dropped his whip. Near the 150 Metres and again after the 100 Metres, COMPASSIONATE was awkwardly placed outside the heels of UNIVERSAL PIONEER which shifted out slightly. When questioned, O Doleuze (AURELIAN) said before straightening he looked to his outside towards GOOD NATURE to see how that horse was travelling with a view to being able to shift out into clear running. He said shortly afterwards as he attempted to draw the whip on his mount, his left arm shifted away from his body which might have resulted in the end of his whip making contact with GOOD NATURE. He said if his whip did make contact with GOOD NATURE, it was not his intention to do so. O Doleuze was told he at all times must do his utmost to prevent any part of his body or equipment coming into contact with another horse or rider. SOLAR POWER was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. RAIN IN SPRING was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SOLAR POWER and RAIN IN SPRING after the race did not show any significant findings. MR GENKI and DANEPRINT were sent for sampling.
