Racing Incident Report

AMO was a little slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between SAND DANCE which after initially shifting in was straightened and then shifted out slightly and MASTER YING which shifted in. Shortly after this incident, SHADOW KNIGHT was checked when crowded for room between MASTER YING which shifted out to relieve the pressure it had been applying to its inside and GALLANT KNIGHT which shifted in. In the circumstances, no action was taken. WISHMASTER began awkwardly. TAKING THE LEAD began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped HIGHLILLI. Near the 800 Metres, SAND DANCE raced tight inside GALLANT KNIGHT which got its head on the side when inclined to shift in away from TAKING THE LEAD which itself shifted in. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, AMO became unbalanced and dipped. Making the Home Turn, SENSIBLE WAY hung in, then in the early part of the Straight got its head on the side and shifted in when close to the heels of CANNONISE. After this, SENSIBLE WAY continued to hang in for some distance. For some distance after the 200 Metres, AMO had difficulty obtaining clear running and because of this was not properly tested. For the major part of the race, TAKING THE LEAD raced wide and without cover. SAND DANCE was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, SAND DANCE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of blood and mucopus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SAND DANCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MASTER YING and GALLANT KNIGHT were sent for sampling.
