Racing Incident Report

DANHERO was slow to begin, then tailed out. The performance of DANHERO was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DANHERO will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BRAVE KNIGHT was slow to begin. SNIPPEDYDOODA began awkwardly, causing C Brown, its rider, to become unbalanced. KROVANH was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between KEEN FLYER and SEASONS TREASURE which shifted in after being bumped by NOBLE HERO. Near the 1000 Metres, KROVANH was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of SEASONS TREASURE. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, SNIPPEDYDOODA was steadied when awkwardly placed outside UPBEAT which shifted out. Approaching the turn at the 700 Metres, KEEN FLYER proved difficult to settle and raced awkwardly when close to the heels of KIMBO KID. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, KEEN FLYER bumped the running rail. In the middle stages, FORTE hung out. After the 500 Metres, UPBEAT was carried wider by SHERIFF BAMBOO which was endeavouring to shift to the outside of HELENE ELEGANCE into clear running. After the 300 Metres, when endeavouring to shift to the outside of UPBEAT, SHERIFF BAMBOO was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse. S Dye (NOBLE HERO) reported in the early stages the horse proved difficult to control and because of this he was reluctant to shift to the fence behind runners. He said therefore he remained racing in a three wide position and then making the first turn NOBLE HERO hung out badly and ran off. NOBLE HERO was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, NOBLE HERO was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it was lame in the right front leg. Mr A Lee, trainer of NOBLE HERO, advised the Stewards he had consulted with the owner following the race and it had been decided that NOBLE HERO will now be retired. When questioned regarding the poor performance of KEEN FLYER, D Whyte said his mount did not appreciate racing tight inside HELENE ELEGANCE and behind KIMBO KID throughout the race.  He said in the past KEEN FLYER had shown a reluctance to perform well when racing in restricted room. DANHERO and KEEN FLYER were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DANHERO and KEEN FLYER after the race did not show any significant findings. HELENE ELEGANCE and SHERIFF BAMBOO were sent for sampling.
