Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the Start, it was noted the left front plate of EASY KING had shifted. This plate was re-set and the horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. JET RISE began awkwardly, lifted its front feet off the ground, then became unbalanced which caused E Saint-Martin, its rider, to become unbalanced. As a consequence, JET RISE lost ground and was then hard ridden. FOREVER CHARMING was slow to begin. On jumping, RIGHT DECISION and GLOBE MARK bumped. Shortly after the start, FOREVER CHARMING and PEPPERONI were checked and GOLDEN MILE hampered when crowded for room between WINNING ATTORNEY which on jumping shifted out and FAIRWAY FINDER which after blundering at the start became unbalanced and shifted in. As a consequence of this, PEPPERONI got well back, then raced wide and without cover throughout. L Innes (BACK SEAT DRIVER) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 900 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of WINNING ATTORNEY causing that horse to lose its rightful running and be checked. L Innes was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday 7 April 2005 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong race days). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting next Saturday 26 March 2005. In addition, L Innes was fined $10,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating 1 further raceday. When WINNING ATTORNEY was checked, crowding was caused on its inside to GLOBE MARK and RIGHT DECISION. Near the 800 Metres, RIGHT DECISION got its head on the side and shifted in away from WINNING ATTORNEY. This caused crowding to GLOBE MARK which near the 700 Metres was unable to maintain its position, was steadied, shifted in and made contact with JET RISE. FOREVER CHARMING, which was following GLOBE MARK, got its head up and was checked to avoid the heels of that runner. No action was taken. Near the 600 Metres, GLOBE MARK was again steadied away from the heels of RIGHT DECISION. FOREVER CHARMING was again steadied away from the heels of GLOBE MARK in consequence. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, WINNING ATTORNEY got its head on the side and was steadied away from the heels of BACK SEAT DRIVER. Making the Home Turn, GLOBE MARK was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the hindquarters of GOLDEN MILE. At the 200 Metres, GOLDEN MILE was steadied when disappointed for running inside JET RISE. PEPPERONI was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PEPPERONI after the race did not show any significant findings. JET RISE, WINNING ATTORNEY and FLASH MAC were sent for sampling.
