Racing Incident Report
When the gates opened, JADE RUYI bounded in the air and lost ground. FABULOUS was slow to begin. POWER TICKER and GOLDEN MILE began awkwardly and bumped the outside gates of their stalls. Shortly after the start, JADE RUYI and TELECOM CAESAR were crowded for room inside COTTON BALL which shifted in after being bumped by MONEY EXPRESS which shifted in. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, LAZY BUDDIES raced tight inside MONEY EXPRESS. Near the 1200 Metres, WAIALAE WIN was steadied to avoid the heels of COTTON BALL which at this time shifted in to a two wide position when not quite clear. Near the 400 Metres, MONEY EXPRESS was steadied away from the heels of COTTON BALL which shifted towards the outside of GOLDEN MILE. After this, MONEY EXPRESS and JADE RUYI were carried wide making the Home Turn. Near the 200 Metres, HARVEST GALA, which was giving ground, became unbalanced when racing tight inside FABULOUS. After the 200 Metres, COTTON BALL, which was giving ground, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of WAIALAE WIN. After the 100 Metres, MONEY EXPRESS was struck on two occasions over the head by the whip of C Soumillon (WAIALAE WIN). Near the 50 Metres, MONEY EXPRESS was steadied when awkwardly placed between WAIALAE WIN and JADE RUYI which shifted in slightly. F Coetzee (GOLDEN MILE) said near the 200 Metres the horse which was giving ground became unbalanced in its action and because of this he did not ride it out as he normally would. GOLDEN MILE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, GOLDEN MILE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDEN MILE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. COTTON BALL was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of COTTON BALL after the race did not show any significant findings. LAZY BUDDIES and AMICABLE were sent for sampling.
