Racing Incident Report
When the gates opened, ESCALATION bounded in the air and lost ground. KING PALM was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards was steadied when crowded for room inside JOYFUL MASTER which shifted in. Near the 700 Metres, DREAMS COME TRUE was checked to avoid the heels of CHOSEN ONE (D Holland) which shifted in gradually when not properly clear. After this for some distance DREAMS COME TRUE got its head up when racing close to the heels of CHOSEN ONE, making the turn at the 600 Metres shifted out when not clear of ESCALATION which as a result clipped the heels of DREAMS COME TRUE and blundered. D Holland was severely reprimanded and told he must ensure he leaves comfortable racing room at all times for other runners. After this incident, DREAMS COME TRUE hung out making the Home Turn and in the Straight. LUCKY POWER from the outside gate raced wide and without cover throughout and making the turn after the 600 Metres hung out. Near the 200 Metres, WINNING PARADE was brushed by CHOSEN ONE which shifted in. Near the 100 Metres, DANEMAN HILL, which was giving ground, hung in and was steadied away from the heels of JOYFUL MASTER. Over the concluding stages, SIGHT CHAMPION was carried in when racing tight inside CHOSEN ONE which shifted ground. D Holland was told in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount. DREAMS COME TRUE was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of DREAMS COME TRUE after the race did not show any significant findings. ESCALATION was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, ESCALATION was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, ESCALATION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CHOSEN ONE and SIGHT CHAMPION were sent for sampling.
