Racing Incident Report
NORTHERNER was withdrawn on 26.11.04 on veterinary grounds (inappetance) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter NASA PEARL (W M Lai). Before being allowed to race again, NORTHERNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WIND WINNER began awkwardly, bounded in the air and then bumped heavily with PERPETUAL PLEASURE. ENTERTAINING began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, AMBITIOUS TYCOON was checked when crowded for room by INVERNESS which got its head on the side and shifted in. In the early stages, SUMMERLAND, which raced wide and without cover, proved difficult to settle. At the 1400 Metres, PERPETUAL PLEASURE was steadied inside AMBITIOUS TYCOON which was carried in slightly by AGILITY. No action was taken. Near the 600 Metres, WIND WINNER was shifted out to avoid the heels of NASA PEARL which commenced to give ground. When WIND WINNER shifted out, some crowding was caused on its outside to AGILITY and SPARKLING STAR. Shortly after this, AMBITIOUS TYCOON shifted out to avoid the heels of NASA PEARL which was giving ground. On straightening, WIND WINNER was steadied when inconvenienced outside the heels of ENTERTAINING which shifted out. Near the 150 Metres, T Mundry (LANCETTIER) dropped his whip. Over the concluding stages, AGILITY got its head on the side and was inclined to shift in away from PERPETUAL PLEASURE. Also over the concluding stages, PERPETUAL PLEASURE hung in. In the Straight, AMBITIOUS TYCOON hung out. SUMMERLAND and NASA PEARL was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUMMERLAND after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, NASA PEARL was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had bled from both nostrils. AGILITY, PERPETUAL PLEASURE and WIND WINNER were sent for sampling.
