Racing Incident Report
On jumping, SWEETIE bounded in the air and lost ground. Also on jumping, JUBILOSO was crowded for room between FUN CRUISER and ON THE TEE. SHINING GEM began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped KING OF SPADES. In the early and middle stages, UPPA HAND proved very difficult to settle, then in the Straight gave ground. At the 1000 Metres, TENNESSEE got its head up and shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of UPPA HAND. D Dunn (CHARIOT OF WEI HAI) said in its recent starts the horse has been able to lead and dictate. He said tonight whilst the times might not have been that quick, CHARIOT OF WEI HAI did not relax with UPPA HAND racing to its outside. He said in the Straight CHARIOT OF WEI HAI kept on until about the 100 Metres and then tired quickly and in his opinion raced a little flat tonight. TENNESSEE, which performed poorly, was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, TENNESSEE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of blood and mucus in the horse's trachea and further that the horse had blood present at its mouth as a result of having loosened a tooth. Before being allowed to race again, TENNESSEE will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. UPPA HAND was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of UPPA HAND after the race did not show any significant findings. CAPABEL, CHERISHED and KING OF SPADES were sent for sampling.
