Racing Incident Report

Due to a misunderstanding, at the time of declarations Y Lerner was declared as the rider of TSZ WAN FORTUNE. Y Lerner was not eligible for this ride as his retaining stable had a runner in the race which was to be ridden by another stable's retained rider. Therefore the Stewards gave permission for S Dye to be substituted as the rider of TSZ WAN FORTUNE. In the circumstances of this case, no action was taken. JUST A MARTIAN and TSZ WAN FORTUNE were slow to begin. DONGGUAN VICTORY began awkwardly. GREAT ACHIEVEMENT began awkwardly and got its head up, then raced wide and without cover throughout. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, CENDAMY got its head up when close to the heels of EASTKOWLOON SPIRIT. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, CHAMP DRAGON was crowded for room inside SUPER CHARGE (G Mossé) which was steadying as it was shifting across to lead. G Mossé was told in similar circumstances he would be expected to ensure he clears other runners before crossing them and steadying the pace. After the 600 Metres, TSZ WAN FORTUNE got its head on the side and was inclined to shift out. In the early part of the Straight, CENDAMY got its head on the side and hung in. Near the 300 Metres, JUST A MARTIAN was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of JOYFUL MASTER which shifted out slightly. After the 50 Metres, JUST A MARTIAN, which was closing the race off strongly, commenced to hang in, shifted ground and bumped LUCKY LAD. SHARKI, EVER SUCCESS and SUPER CHARGE were sent for sampling.
