Racing Incident Report

Whilst being saddled, the right front plate of CITY GLORY shifted. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said after the necessary consultations it was suitable to race. After arriving at the Start, A Marcus, the rider of CITY GLORY, expressed concern to the Veterinary Surgeon that he was not happy with the horse's action during the preliminary. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said it appeared stiff in front and in his opinion was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of CITY GLORY. Before being allowed to race again, CITY GLORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BRAINIEST began awkwardly and lost ground. SAMMY TREASURE was slow to begin. On jumping, TELECOM SUPERBOSS was bumped by SOUND OF SILENCE. In the early stages, BRAINIEST proved difficult to settle and after the 1000 Metres got its head up and lost ground when being checked away from the heels of HAPPY TOGETHER. Near the 300 Metres, SOUND OF SILENCE was momentarily crowded for room inside GOLD SANDFIELD which got its head on the side and shifted in away from STAR OF SHANTOU. When SOUND OF SILENCE was crowded for room, it shifted in and made contact with KING OF FIELD which was commencing to close the race off. At the 300 Metres, SAMMY TREASURE was steadied and shifted to the outside of MAXIMUM JOY to obtain clear running. After the 200 Metres, Y Lerner (BRAINIEST) dropped his whip. Over the concluding stages, HARVEST and STEPS AHEAD hung in. STAR OF SHANTOU and MAGNIFICENT were sent for sampling.
