Racing Incident Report
When the gates opened, KEEP ON EASY bounded in the air and lost ground. Shortly after the start, JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE was checked when crowded for room between DOWN FOR THE COUNT which shifted in and MAJOR BEE which began very awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. When JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE checked, further inconvenience was caused to KEEP ON EASY. REAL PARTNER was slow to begin. B Doyle (KEEP ON EASY), 6th placegetter, was fined $20,000 for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards [Rule 100(2)]. G Schofield (ALL FIT) said the horse has never been in his opinion a great track worker and he of recent times had sat on the horse twice during its morning exercise and the horse worked well on these occasions. He said however today after beginning reasonably ALL FIT was immediately under pressure and at no stage of the race travelled comfortably. ALL FIT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. A veterinary examination of ALL FIT after the race did not show any significant findings. JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE and EVER MORE were sent for sampling.
