Racing Incident Report
JUST VICTORY proved difficult to load and this resulted in a delay to the start. During this delay, PORT OF HOPE became fractious and broke through the front gate of its stall. PORT OF HOPE was quickly reined in and returned to the Start where it was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, PORT OF HOPE will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. When the gates opened, NIGHT HUNTER II began awkwardly, got its head up and lost a significant amount of ground. SWAGGIE began awkwardly. Approaching the first turn, PORT OF HOPE proved difficult to settle and raced close to the heels of TORI TOP. Prior to straightening, NAOMERIC TE SPECSO was disappointed for running when endeavouring to shift to the outside of TORI TOP and inside PORT OF HOPE. In the early part of the Straight, NAOMERIC TE SPECSO got its head on the side and was inclined to lay in. Prior to the 200 Metres, GREAT DRAGON, which was giving ground, was steadied when crowded for room between ELVIS which was also giving ground and shifted out slightly and NAOMERIC TE SPECSO which was carried in slightly by PORT OF HOPE. No action was taken. BELONG TO US and NIGHT HUNTER II were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of BELONG TO US and NIGHT HUNTER II after the race did not show any significant findings. PORT OF HOPE, JUST VICTORY and TORI TOP were sent for sampling.

SUNDAY DELIGHT was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D A Hayes this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be cut on the left hind. Before being allowed to race again, SUNDAY DELIGHT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
