Racing Incident Report

FAMOUS DANCER got its head up at the start and lost ground. WYNDAM EASY began awkwardly. GREAT DELIGHT began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped WEALTHY TREASURE. NOBLE SILENCE, which was standing badly, began awkwardly and lost ground at the start. After the 1100 Metres, SIROCCO was steadied to avoid the heels of THE DUKE which shifted in when only just clear. Making the turn near the 800 Metres, WEALTHY TREASURE became unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the heels of PLANET RULER which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in. Making the Home Turn, WYNDAM EASY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GREAT DELIGHT. Just prior to straightening, GREAT DELIGHT became unbalanced and dipped. Near the 300 Metres, PLANET RULER was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of GREAT DELIGHT which was giving ground. Near the 200 Metres, WEALTHY TREASURE was momentarily steadied when crowded for room between FAMOUS DANCER and GREAT DELIGHT which at this time drifted in when giving ground. Throughout the race, STARDANE raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. PRIME WITNESS was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of PRIME WITNESS after the race did not show any significant findings. OUR CLASS, which trailed the field and tailed out in the Straight, was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, OUR CLASS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in the right hind leg. The performance of OUR CLASS was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, OUR CLASS will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SCINTILLATION and THE DUKE were sent for sampling.
