Racing Incident Report

CHIU CHOW HERO and GIVE ME FIVE were slow to begin. LIGHTING THE WORLD began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the inside gate of its stall, as a consequence lost ground at the start. At the 1000 Metres, CHEVAL D'OR was steadied when crowded for room inside CHIU CHOW HERO which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in slightly away from GIVE ME FIVE. After the 1000 Metres, WISDOM EXPRESS was momentarily steadied away from the heels of GETMORE DANCER. After the 800 Metres, UNIVERSAL PEGASUS, which at this time was proving difficult to settle, raced close to the hindquarters of SUPERSONIC, clipped the heels of that horse, blundered and almost fell. GIVE ME FIVE and CHIU CHOW HERO were checked severely in consequence. The occurrence in the opinion of the Stewards was accidental. W M Lai (GIVE ME FIVE) reported that when he checked his mount, his saddle shifted backwards. In the middle stages, PRESENT TREASURE hung out. For some distance in the middle stages, FAMOUS BRAND raced awkwardly outside CHEVAL D'OR and inside the heels of BIG SHOT. On straightening, GETMORE DANCER was bumped on two occasions by GIVE ME FIVE which at this time was shifting to the outside of PRESENT TREASURE into clear running. After the 100 Metres, CHIU CHOW HERO was momentarily steadied when tightened for room between MUNDAHISH which was giving ground and DO IT WELL which shifted in slightly. In the Straight, GETMORE DANCER hung in. LIGHTING THE WORLD was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. A veterinary examination of LIGHTING THE WORLD after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPERSONIC and PRESENT TREASURE were sent for sampling.
