Racing Incident Report

SMILING FOREST was a little slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was steadied when crowded for room between OPERA MAGIC and WINNING PARADE which shifted out. In the early stages, LUCKY CHAMPION was slow to muster speed. Approaching the 800 Metres, SUPER MARKSMAN proved very difficult to settle and got its head up. Near the 800 Metres, FORTUNE BUILDER, which had its head on the side and was inclined to shift in, was momentarily crowded for room inside SMILING FOREST which itself shifted in slightly. After the 400 Metres, LUCKY CHAMPION was shifted to the outside of WINNING PARADE into clear running, then at the 200 Metres was momentarily crowded for room by TELECOM SUPERBOSS which shifted in. After this incident, LUCKY CHAMPION shifted out and bumped TELECOM SUPERBOSS. In the early part of the Straight, SMILING FOREST had some difficulty obtaining clear running. Just prior to the winning post, WINNING PARADE became unbalanced. In the Straight, SHINING GEM hung out. Throughout the race, A PLUS FIT raced in a forward position but three wide and without cover. When questioned, Mr P F Yiu, the trainer of LASER GLORY, attributed today's improved performance to the horse racing without a visor which it had carried in its recent starts. He did point out on the last occasion LASER GLORY was subjected to the same gear change the horse was successful. LUCKY CHAMPION, LASER GLORY and TELECOM SUPERBOSS were sent for sampling.
