Racing Incident Report
CENDAMY, GLOBE MARK and SUCCESSIVE GAINS were slow to begin. BRILLIANT EXPRESS began awkwardly. On jumping, HELENE PILLAGING was bumped by AMAZING VICTORY which shifted out. After the 1000 Metres, GLOBE MARK raced ungenerously and got its head up on a number of occasions. At the 600 Metres, CENDAMY and HOROSCOPE became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of EASTKOWLOON SPIRIT which in turn was steadied away from SUPER PRINCE which in turn steadied off the heels of AMAZING VICTORY which steadied the tempo in front. When CENDAMY was being steadied, it became unbalanced, shifted out and carried ENGINEERING WONDER wider. Shortly after this, CENDAMY was bumped and carried wider by HOROSCOPE which shifted to the outside of EASTKOWLOON SPIRIT. After the 600 Metres, ENGINEERING WONDER raced wide and without cover. After the 200 Metres, O Doleuze (EASTKOWLOON SPIRIT) dropped his whip. At the 50 Metres, P Payne (MARANELLO) was accidentally struck over the arm by the whip of D Whyte (AMAZING VICTORY). Near the winning post when racing tight, AMAZING VICTORY was accidentally struck on the shoulder by the whip of P Payne. When questioned, Mr C H Yip, the trainer of HOROSCOPE, attributed the horse's improved performance tonight to racing at Happy Valley and against horses which in his opinion were not as strong as the competition in recent starts. He said while HOROSCOPE had not placed in its previous three attempts at Happy Valley, in his opinion the form the horse displayed in these runs were superior to when it had been racing recently at Sha Tin. He did point out at its last start HOROSCOPE made the Home Turn wide and in his opinion this might have contributed to the horse's performance. Mr Yip was told his explanation would be recorded. AMAZING VICTORY, HOROSCOPE and MARANELLO were sent for sampling.
