Racing Incident Report

Prior to the race, it was noted WADADELIGHT had abrasions to both hind cannons in the saddling stalls. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations was considered suitable to race. Also prior to the race, ON SHAN EXPRESS was noted to walk with an abnormal gait in the Parade Ring. The horse was trotted up, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations was considered suitable to race. WINNING SMILE was difficult to load. Before being permitted to race again, WINNING SMILE will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. WADADELIGHT, which was standing badly, was slow to begin. TELECOM CAESAR began awkwardly, shortly after the start threw its head around and then tailed out. The performance of TELECOM CAESAR was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, TELECOM CAESAR will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WEI SHAN began awkwardly. After straightening, MR BASKETBALL shifted to the outside of TOUCH OF CLASS to obtain clear running. For the major part of the race, MAXIMUM JOY raced wide and without cover. D Whyte (WADADELIGHT) was unable to offer any explanation for the horse's poor performance. He said despite being slow to begin, he was able to improve to race behind midfield without having to make much use of the horse. He said in the Straight WADADELIGHT tended to get its head up, did not appear comfortable racing amongst other runners and did not close the race off as it normally does. CYBER GULCH and TELECOM CAESAR were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of CYBER GULCH and TELECOM CAESAR after the race did not reveal any significant abnormalities. WADADELIGHT, WINNING SMILE and MAXIMUM JOY were sent for sampling.
