Racing Incident Report
PEAK POWER was slow to begin. EVER SUCCESS began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, LUCKY HANDS was steadied away from the heels of EVER SUCCESS. After the 1200 Metres, SURE FIT was shifted out from behind SURVEYOR and made contact on two occasions with EVER SUCCESS. After the 800 Metres, MIGHTY HUGO became unbalanced behind after being bumped by ELEPHANT DANCE which was carried out by MADE JOY. Making the Home Turn, ELEPHANT DANCE was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of EVER SUCCESS which commenced to give ground. On straightening, PEAK POWER and LUCKY HANDS bumped. At the 400 Metres, BY MEMORY shifted in and brushed the running rail. Over the concluding stages, MOMENTUM was carried wider by LUCKY HANDS (C Williams). C Williams was told in similar circumstances he should stop riding and straighten his mount. D Boeuf (EVER SUCCESS) said the horse travelled too keenly in the early and middle stages today and consequently did not finish the race off. He said when he rode EVER SUCCESS at its last start, the horse relaxed underneath him and closed the race off nicely. He added whilst EVER SUCCESS does have some wet track form, it was not comfortable on today's surface. SURVEYOR was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of SURVEYOR after the race did not reveal any significant abnormalities. Following the running of the race, T Mundry (LUCKY SABRE) reported the horse was not striding out. LUCKY SABRE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it was mildly lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY SABRE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SURE FIT and MIGHTY HUGO were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted ELEPHANT DANCE had lost its left front plate.
