Racing Incident Report

Y T Cheng (AMBITIOUS TYCOON) was late presenting himself at scale to weigh out for this race. He explained after cleaning his gear following the previous race, he had forgotten to prepare to weigh out to ride AMBITIOUS TYCOON. For his negligence, Y T Cheng was fined $2,000. When the gates opened, SHANE put its head up and was slow to begin. WINFIELD and AFRICAN FOREST were slow to begin. On jumping, EXPECTATIONS bumped with DENDRANTHEMA LOVE. Then shortly afterwards, EXPECTATIONS and DENDRANTHEMA LOVE were crowded for room inside BOLD WINNER. At the 1000 Metres, VICTORY MARBLE was steadied away from the heels of BOLD WINNER which shifted in when only just clear. When VICTORY MARBLE steadied, MAGIC MAIL shifted out to avoid its heels. This caused some inconvenience to AFRICAN FOREST. At the 700 Metres, WINFIELD became unbalanced and bumped the running rail. After the 400 Metres, DENDRANTHEMA LOVE was steadied to avoid the heels of FLYING MACHINE which shifted to the outside of KINGFIELD into clear running. For some distance approaching and passing the 300 Metres, THE ACHIEVER was held up and unable to improve when racing behind KING OF FISH which was commencing to give ground and between VICTORY MARBLE and MAGIC MAIL. THE ACHIEVER obtained clear running near the 200 Metres when KING OF FISH shifted out. After the 200 Metres, PALETTE NATURAL, which had been endeavouring to improve between KINGFIELD and FLYING MACHINE, was shifted out away from that run when KINGFIELD was carried out by AMBITIOUS TYCOON. EXPECTATIONS was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, EXPECTATIONS, which tailed out, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in the right hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, EXPECTATIONS will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BOLD WINNER and FLYING MACHINE were sent for sampling.
