Racing Incident Report

On jumping, STAR WARRIOR put its head down and blundered. PEPPERONI was slow to begin. FAT CHOY TREASURE shifted out abruptly at the start. HAPPY KID began awkwardly and bumped the inside gate of its stall. Approaching and passing the 1000 Metres, PEPPERONI, which was proving difficult to settle, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FAT CHOY TREASURE. In the middle stages, SHARE THE FUN was awkwardly placed when unable to improve whilst racing behind PRESENT TREASURE which was reluctant to hold its position behind SPEEDY EXPRESS. At the 600 Metres, CORNWALL CHIEFS shifted in and bumped the running rail. J Spencer (STAR WARRIOR) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 200 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of ISLAND SPIRIT, causing that horse to be carried in which caused crowding on its inside to SHARE THE FUN which in turn shifted in across the rightful running of PRESENT TREASURE, resulting in that horse being checked. J Spencer was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Sunday 21 December 2003 on which day he may resume race riding (4 Hong Kong race days). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Happy Valley meeting next Saturday 6 December 2003. After the 200 Metres, HAPPY KID was steadied when crowded for room between ISLAND SPIRIT which shifted out and FAT CHOY TREASURE which was carried in slightly by GO GET THEM which shifted ground when hanging. Also after the 200 Metres, PEPPERONI was steadied and shifted to the outside of GO GET THEM to continue going forward. Near the winning post, PEPPERONI was bumped by HAPPY KID. STAR WARRIOR and SHARE THE FUN were sent for sampling.
